Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S)

Check eligibility, admission process, and counselling details for the BDS program at DJ Dental College.

No candidate shall be admitted to the First Year of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Course unless they meet the following criteria:

  • 1.
    The candidate has completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • 2.
    The candidate has obtained the required qualifying marks in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
  • 3.
    The candidate must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations:
  • a.
    10+2 Higher Secondary Examination (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects.
  • b.
    Intermediate Science Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • c.
    Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • d.
    First year of a three-year degree course from a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (and English in 10+2).
  • e.
    B.Sc. degree with at least two subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and passed earlier 10+2 with PCB & English.
  • f.
    Any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English including practical tests.
Note: Marks in Mathematics are not considered for admission to the BDS course.

  • Admission to BDS shall be based solely on merit through National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
  • Candidates must obtain at least the 50th percentile in NEET-UG to qualify.
  • For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum qualifying percentile is 40th.
  • For candidates with locomotor disability, the minimum qualifying percentile is 45th.
  • Reservation of seats shall follow the State/UT laws in force.
  • No candidate failing to meet the minimum percentile shall be admitted to the BDS program in that academic year.

  • There shall be a common counselling process for admission to all BDS programs based on NEET-UG merit.
  • For All India Quota (15%) and Central/Deemed Universities, counselling is conducted by DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
  • State/UT Government authorities conduct counselling for State quota and private dental colleges.
  • Disputes, if any, are referred to the Central Government, whose decision shall be final.
